Apply now for Summer 2024!

The Dunu Camper is back at the Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden for its second year hosting artists in residence. We are excited to build from what we learned and keep activating opportunities for artists to have access to a unique neighborhood garden space for making work, hosting events, and connecting with  materials and plants in this unique sculptural environment. The artist would have semi-private access for 3 weeks to use the camper as a micro studio workspace, and access to the garden as a source of inspiration, relaxation and cultivation.

This year we are looking to host up to 3 residents for up to 3 weeks at a time between June  through October 1, 2024.

This residency is a collaboration between the host site, Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden  and Pedro Ospina, with the creative support of Termite TV Collective. Residency is designed and managed by Laura Deutch.

Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden is located at 2241 N Philip St (near American & Dauphin St).

Dunu on the Road (2022-present)

This handbuilt camper was designed for family travel, micro residency opportunities and learning about mobile architecture, off grid systems and tiny house living.

During the month of April, 2023, Dunu debuted at Cherry Street Pier, as part of Portals: Termite TV’s 30th Anniversary exhibit.

Simulating an outdoor camping experience, the Dunu camper: a portal to nature and beyond invites participants into a homemade travel camper to relax, read, or reflect on a few provided prompts in a shared ‘travel’ journal.

Following the Cherry St exhibit, Dunu hosted 5 inaugural artists at the Open Kitchen Sculpture Garden, an art and community space near Norris Square.
