Inspiring Creativity

Caught this episode of RadioLab yesterday… some good moments of advice. I particularly appreciated Elizabeth Gilbert’s comments that we are often told to ‘Follow your ┬ápassion.’ ‘ Just find your passion and pursue it.’ For those who truly have a single calling, a clearly identified passion, they have probably already started on that path to live it everyday- but for many people who may be interested in a lot of different things, this can be tough advice that ultimately is more defeating that invigorating.

So, follow your curiosity instead.

“Follow it,” she says. “It might lead you to your passion or it might not. You might get nothing out of it at all except a beautiful, long life where all you did was follow your gorgeous curiosity. And that should be enough too.”
